Crisis Center Job Description
Position: Program Facilitator (BIPP) (AM)
Status: Non-Exempt – Full-Time
Responsibility To: Community Education Coordinator
Purpose: Facilitates the Battering Intervention and Prevention Project and Anger Management
Responsibilities:
- Perform intakes and assessments for proposed clients and determines eligibility for service
- Maintain all accreditation requirements for BIPP funding
- Implement, train and educate community education facilitators on curriculum and required outputs
- Provide individual and group sessions appropriate for creating non-violent life styles
- Act as a role model and resource for each client encouraging non-abusive behavior as appropriate for each individual
- Assist the Community Education Coordinator in working with probation department, county attorney’s office, and judges for the best delivery of services to each client
- Ensure needs of clients are met in a timely manner and maintain agency standards for high quality and ethical services
- Provide public education and community awareness as assigned
- Act as liaison and resource with other agencies on a local, regional, and state level as appropriate.
- Coordinate with appropriate agency staff for best services to each client
- Complete in timely fashion assignments and required documentation for client services, computer data, etc.
- Comply and fulfills contractual obligations to funding sources and governmental entities for service delivery
- Comply with program workload measures, outcomes, etc. as required by funding sources
- Collect group fees, complete and issue receipts following collection, and documentation requirements
- Maintain all client files and records accurately and completed per requirements
- Notify Supervisor of any violent crisis situations or other incidents in timely manner
- Other duties as assigned by Community Education Coordinator and/or Executive Director
Qualifications: High school degree and one year of combined paid and/or volunteer experience in a domestic violence program or related social services agency, or two years experience in provision of peer counseling.
Staff development for staff (full-time, part-time, or contract) who work directly with batterers and/or supervise staff who work directly with batterers requires a minimum of 40 hours of staff development specifically in the area of family violence and battering intervention every two years. At least 20 hours of this training requirement must be approved by TDCJ-CJAD. Documentation of staff development training hours and topics for all 40 hours must be submitted to TDCJ-CJAD for approval.
