Each Crisis Center volunteer has an essential and unique role within our center and below you find the requirements for becoming a advocate volunteer at our center. As we partner together to support survivors in our community, we help provide hope, safety and a healing connection.
We are dedicated to ending the cycle of domestic violence and sexual assault through direct client services and community outreach. Your contribution is very important to us.

Training/Commitment Requirements:
- Commitment Requirement: 6 month commitment, Shifts vary and may require longer hours (2-4 hrs), continuing education (10 hrs, yearly)
- Volunteer orientation (5 Hrs)
- 1 hour in person orientation, where the volunteer will review policies and procedures in the volunteer handbook, have a tour of the facility and meet staff.
- Video trainings: TCFV- Trauma Informed Services for survivors of Family Violence (1 hr), Dynamics of Family Violence (1 hr), Confidentiality (1.5 hr), TAASA – Sexual Violence 101 (1 hr).
- Advocate Volunteer Training (51.5hrs)
- Various Video Training (21.5 hrs)
- Shadow/OTJ Training with Center Advocates/Volunteer Coordinator (30 hrs)

Due to both the mission of the Crisis Center and our funding sources, a background check will be performed.
If you are currently receiving services from the Crisis Center or been convicted of family violence, assault, or theft, you are not an eligible volunteer applicant.
