Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner

The Crisis Center is looking for Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners to provide timely medical/forensic examination of Sexual Assault/Forensic patients using a compassionate and victim sensitive approach. The position serves under the direction of the Grayson County SART team Medical Director and in cooperation with the on-duty E.D. physician as necessary by individual case presentation. The applicant must be a Registered Nurse licensed to practice in the State of Texas, preferable minimum of 2 years clinical experience in Emergency, Pediatrics, or Maternal Health.  Certification as an Adult and/or Pediatric Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner from the Office of the Attorney General of Texas is preferable. Successful completion of at least one Advanced Assessment Skills Course such as: PALS, ACLS, TNCC, ENPC expected.  Must be able to take fair share of on-call responsibilities and be within a 60 minute response time when on-call. Shelter Staff

A collaborative supporter and member of the Direct Service Team with the objective to support the mission of the Crisis Center and the residential and non-clients served by assisting clients with all of their needs while establishing and maintaining an environment for clients that is consistent with agency values. Shelter Staff are part-time, PRN positions; schedule must be flexible to include holidays, weekends and on-call notice. Bachelor degree preferable in a social services field. Must demonstrate skills in crisis intervention, able to exercise discretion and independent judgment. Possess sensitivity to cultural, ethnic, and social backgrounds, values and attitudes with excellent interpersonal communication skills. Ability to lift donations (up to 35 pounds). Possess a valid driver’s license and excellent driving record.
